Thank you Hungary! No. 55!

A completely unexpected but welcome surprise. A huge thank you to everyone in Hungary who got Valley of Thorns into the iTunes Chart at number 55 during the lockdown! Good news has travelled – not as quick as I’d have liked, but it’s really great and unexpected news. Maybe it’s time to be planning a post Covid tour! Big love to everyone who has been celebrating the birthday of Valley of Thorns with us. You totally rock!

Also a thank you for your massive patience with merch while I followed the lockdown rules on non–essential postage. The store is now back open and with new gear including some hand painted snapbacks! Hope you like them! All orders are finally making their way out. A huge thank you to everyone who has grabbed merch in this time. The postponement of our tour supporting the legendary Danko Jones was a big blow, especially as it was days away and with all the extra merch ordered in. But a huge thank you for understanding and also having our back. We really look forward to seeing you out on the road again when it is safe.

We miss you guys and we miss being on the road ! They are saying it’s really tough times for the music industry in the UK in general, with many venues, promoters and bands struggling. It seems selfish to call it out as there’s so many more urgent things like everyone staying alive and safe. But of course we shared our support with the #Letthemusicplay hashtag – it’s not a motion to re-open venues while it is unsafe, but a call to the government to realise the value of the music industry and save our venues. A big thank you to everyone who supported this yesterday – our social streams were a sea of yellow and green. Let’s hope it helps the decision makers give this attention, so we can save the industry and community we know and love. I can only imagine how the rest of the independent bands are doing… Our tour dates have turned into social media posts, it’s a very different time – and I’m sending you all love and safety through it.

In line with that, I hope that you have been enjoying my Digital Exhibition of Well-Being. I spent about 8/9 weeks coding it – and I hope it has been given you a boost of well-being. Opening mid last month, it took a while to explain the concept, and why you’d all need a mouse and keyboard.. but I hope you have enjoyed checking out the games, digital art and all the extras in the locked zone. Adding in the tour diaries was probably my fave bit, and I hope that’s going to keep you occupied while things are quite slow in the real world. Anyway! That’s a fairly big update! Sending you all the good vibes xx
